I miss many things. I have died and I have risen, again, and again and again. Each time a new world comes into view, red sky, blue sky, two suns, three suns, no sun. It is hard to say if I'll ever see those worlds again but I must not fret. I come once more.

A Moment of Zen

Extra Credit:

Malibus Most Wanted: Underrated, Probably

This film is the best. It made me laugh a lot. Sometimes I wonder if I'm getting dumber every day. Nonetheless, I suggest you go rent it asap. It got a 4.9/10 on metacritic, but I would raise that score to something more like Awesome!/10. Funny, heartwarming, and it has my boy Terry Crew in it (from movies like White Chicks) as 8 Ball:

Thats Terry Crew, lookin' at you.

Speaking of T. Crew. He sure can rave. Actually. F-it. This Post is re-dedicated to Terry Crews. If I could hang out w/ anyone in Hollywood, it would definitely be him. I can only imagine the fun we'd have!

3 (OK 4) Great Female Vocalists

It Started with Cities in Dust - I just rlly liek Siouxsie's voice mixed with this nutty 80's vid. Then I remembered Lisa Miskovsky's single for the game "Mirror's Edge" (which I've never played), Still Alive, which is much different. She's a Swede, hence the ethereal, I suppose. All of a sudden, I couldn't help myself but amalgamate to this femmy bloc Candy Castles by Glass Candy. Along with other female vocalists, including The Knife and Goldfrapp, Glass Candy makes a brand of music I like to call "Neo-Disco Miami House". Most of the songs from the Scarface Soundtrack, notably Debby Harry's "Rush Rush (to the Yeo)" just evoke certain similarities. Enough.

Deadmau5 Rox!

Just starting to get to know Deadmau5 (like Dead Mouse:). Superb music and they have a great, say inspirational, video that lists off the "ten commandments about being a raver," which somehow come off as rising above just being laws for partying. "We're in a recession. Most of ya's, ya just sit back in apathy. You got your playstations and your internet and your mobile phone but thats nothing. That's just smack for your generation...you got two choices. You either sit back, and let it all happen, or you stand up and let your voice be heard."

That "Inspirational Video" aka "I Remember" (named after their first single).

deadmau5 & Kaskade - I Remember (extended version

The Real "I Remember"

Video - Ghosts n Stuff

Under The Milky Way

This song does things to me. Kinky (but clean) things. I first heard it as part of the Donnie Darko soundtrack while watching said film my sophomore (wise fool) year in college. It is one of those songs that just glues me to the In fact, a lot of the songs off that soundtrack are still my favorites, including Tear's for Fears' "Head Over Heels" and Echo and the Bunnyman's "The Killing Moon".

The Church - Under the milky way

The Wilhelm Scream

I'm a pretty big fan of the "Wilhelm Scream". Dunno why...it's just funny. Anyways, I just saw a (relatively) new Pixar short that has it at the very end.

Below is a "Wilhelm Scream" compilation showing its use through the silver, golden and future (aka now) decades and the short, "Lifted"

I mean, I think it's pretty swell.

From Wikipedia, about the Wilhelm Scream:

The Wilhelm scream is a repeatedly used film and television stock sound effect first used in 1951 for the film Distant Drums.[1] The effect gained new popularity (its use often becoming an in-joke) after it was used in Star Wars and many other blockbuster films as well as television programs and video games. [2]

The Wilhelm scream has become a well-known cinematic sound cliché, and is claimed to have been used in over 140 films,[3] as well as every episode of Primeval, and in some form, every episode of The Middleman (TV series).

Damn GM

An Interesting paper that describes how GM bought up and effectively destroyed mass transportation in the early 20th century. Identifies and warns against the ability of private corporate entities to shape American public policy under the radar:

CCCP/Fly Like a Bird - Two Melodies Too Perfect For Your Ears

I've posted CCCP elsewhere before, but since I'm kind of throwing myself a little "sweet one-man blog kickoff party" (in my mind), I wanted to congrasturbate myself by serving up the best of heaven & hell together for the first time:

CCCP by American Soviets:
Don't speak. I know what this must mean for you. Just watch. Shhhhhhhh.......

Fly Like a Bird by Andre Nicky-Nicky-Tina:
Focus on a calm mindstate as your privilaged ears absorb the forthcoming honeyed musical nectar; there is a tangible risk of irreparable cortical hemmorhage when those like yourself are exposed to meta-algorithmic patterns of this sort which transcend your regrettable prosaic limits.

If you are Will Cordingley, this music probably just killed you.

A Salute to Chris Christensen: Polymath

I gotta quickly give a shout out to Chris (the dude below) and his swell site for hooking me up with what I need! No...not a rifle and some old farm animals...

I have special needs with my comp. and after searching around for a program that multiplies the number of docks on your mac - such a simple concept, but not exactly one most developers feel like giving away for free - I came across this man's site and found Dockworker. Not only did his site provide me a sweet program that allows me to divide my dock up and get rid of all that crap that I keep there for a rainy day to the proper lonely backwater dock it deserves, but I discovered that the man is much, much more than a simple programmer. Oh, no. No, no, no! The man is a gin-u-wine rig-yu-ler polymath in the scope of Leonardo Da Vinci!

He programs...check, is the Executive Vice President of a major Silicon Valley social networking site: "My day job is as the Executive Vice President of Engineering and Operations for LiveWorld internet community for major companies like Campbells, HBO, Tv Guide, American Express, History Channel, A&E, QVC, Mini Cooper, eBay and the NBA. LiveWorld has a joint venture with WPP which owns nearly half of the leading marketing agencies world wide."

But what really got me was the fact that he is an amateur poet on the side.
All I can say is that I am impressed.

He even writes a travel blog that has been featured in Men's Journal, The Chicago Sun Times, and some others. Actually, he's probably loaded, and I didn't take the time to read it - so I'd assume that kind of thing is a necessary when you Jet-Set to go clubbing in Ibiza one day and then to the U.A.E. for who knows what insane rich sins lie in wait for men of his calibur in the sands of paradise.

All I know is that Chris Christensen - I am proud to say that you my friend must be a regular Marquis De Sade underneath that happy, fluffy exterior. Cheers to a great man of our times and may all the forbidden fruits of the world await you, Mr. Christensen.

History Lesson

2:21 a.m: Could go to bed. Maybe. Should. First must post music penned by two great early-American historians, Cox and Combes. Probably. I watch this kind of a lot. Gets me ready for a big day tutoring immigrants for the naturalization test. All facts within are the truth. Enjoy.

The Coolest Pictures...On My Hard Drive.

I love images that play with my imagination. Here are some of my favorite images shanghai'd off the int'net. (click images to mega-size, right)

Serious business here. Moon business.

$tyle.

The cast of adult swim's Superjail!, one of my favorite shows. Left to right: Jailbot, Jared, The Warden, Alice. Background: The Twins riding the rainbow.

"My Own Little World"

The somnolent Warden in Dreamland on a magic...tomato?

This is by Stina Persson. Her watercolors blow my mind. Talk about an underestimated medium, ya?

"Ninth Angel" - Very cool image of a presumably fallen angel.

A beautiful outdated map of the world.

Sensational poster for the old film that gave some inspiration to "I Am Robot" (I think).

Cool Computer Art

Friendly Mantis Shrimp

Depiction of the "Jabberwock" and "Vorpal Blade" from Lewis Carroll's famous portmanteau poem (look up the word "Chortle"), "Jabberwocky".

Most, or bridge, somewhere in Czech Rep.

Stylized photo of Yuri Gagarin, Russian and first man in space. He became a symbol of immense pride and propaganda in Soviet Russia before dying tragically in a test flight accident that some believe was in fact a planned assasination.

I just like this.

Hindi imagery - I think this is Shiva. Bad. Ass.

Obligatory glam photo of the famous Czech Astronomical Clock. Yes, I studied there.

An Alligator Gar. Yes - These exist. Yes, this is but one of the many reasons the south is way too hardcore for me.

Yeah, we've all seen 'em. Well...?

AVP3 - "The Battle of the Grey Poupon"

Haunting, depressing, beautiful. This was on digg.com one day.

Strange poster or something, I dunno, from an old, old movie.

Poster says it all. Ed Norton will end you.

Computer generated hybrid mush.

I found this in my bed and brought out my grandpa's old reptile-eating bug omnibus to figure out what to make of the guy. He then got loose and ate my pug.

Mantis and, um, fish glam shots Igor Siwanowicz.

Amazing Real Estate. Note the catacomb/cellar/dungeon it stands on.

My thoughts, math class, 8th grade.

Hot.

This is just really sad :(

I love this Olive Tree because it reminds me of Afro Puff hair. Reminds me of the Lady of Rage song from Death Row Records. "I rock rough and stuff wit' my Afro Puffs! Hey, Ho!" Yeah, I know...

Dystopian Inspector Gadget.

I think they sell these on the black market in Southeast Asia.

Classic expression. Pure insanity.

"Nirvana of Buddha." - my guess at a title.

He did this on Sundays.

Fog by Zeus.

It was a blast until Mao spilled his drink all over the furniture and Marx tried to pick a fight with the neighbor's kid. Stalin's moustache, though. Wow.

Cigarettes will kill you, c'est la vie.

Not funny? Aw c'mon.

Mai heroes.
